Apple Raisin Chutney

This is a special treat to serve with pork, duck, or turkey. Easy to make and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or canned.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Granny Smith Apples peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper seeded and chopped
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh ginger minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • a pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Combine everything in a large stainless steel or enamel saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil while stirring frequently. Boil gently for 40 minutes while stirring occasionally.
