Christmas Rosettes

This is a Esler family tradition and Dad's favorite Christmas treat. You need to have the iron to make.

Servings: 40 Rosettes

Equipment

  • Rosette Iron

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  • Beat eggs, sugar, and salt slightly. Add milk and flour and beat until smooth.
  • Heat oil on medium high in shallow pan – 1-2 inches deep.
  • Heat iron well in boiling oil, dip into batter being careful not to let batter run over top of form.
  • Dip batter coated iron into hot fat and fry until nicely browned. Remove from iron and place on paper towel.
  • Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
