Christmas Rosettes
This is a Esler family tradition and Dad's favorite Christmas treat. You need to have the iron to make.
Servings: 40 Rosettes
Equipment
- Rosette Iron
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup flour
Instructions
- Beat eggs, sugar, and salt slightly. Add milk and flour and beat until smooth.
- Heat oil on medium high in shallow pan – 1-2 inches deep.
- Heat iron well in boiling oil, dip into batter being careful not to let batter run over top of form.
- Dip batter coated iron into hot fat and fry until nicely browned. Remove from iron and place on paper towel.
- Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
