Apple Crisp
Why don't I make this delicious and simple desert more often? Too easy!
Servings: 8 servings
Equipment
- 8 x 8 inch square baking dish
Ingredients
- 6 apples (I prefer Granny Smith)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 scant cup flour
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Wash, peel, core and slice all apples into a large bowl.
- Toss with lemon juice, flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Place apple mixture in baking dish.
Crumb Topping
- Mix the 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Combine well. Using a fork, cut the softened butter into the flour mixture until mixture is pea shaped.
- Spread over the apple mixture and bake 25 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apple mixture is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving with vanilla ice cream.
