Cook Time30 minutes mins
Servings: 8 servings
- 6 apples (I prefer Granny Smith)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 scant cup flour
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Wash, peel, core and slice all apples into a large bowl.
Toss with lemon juice, flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Place apple mixture in baking dish.
Crumb Topping
Mix the 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Combine well. Using a fork, cut the softened butter into the flour mixture until mixture is pea shaped.
Spread over the apple mixture and bake 25 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apple mixture is bubbling.
Let cool slightly before serving with vanilla ice cream.
